Underwater camera bags?
Hi, I'm planning on doing some scuba diving on a trip to the Caymans in a few weeks time, and want to try and take a camera down with me if I can. I've already got a digital compact, so obviously would like to keep the cost down and get some sort of waterprrof casing for this. Does anyone have experience of using waterproof bags such as this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200144917263&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:uk ? Don't want to get down there to find my camera's swimming and knackered!! Thanks...

- I have used a bag similar to this - they are not 100% waterproof and a little dampness does get in but nothing too serious. I don't think this is particularly cheap though - I think you can get ones in shops for a similar price. Look at some outdoor shops online.
- well really need a quality one and it going to cost more than your compact, but this is only a cheap BASIC type and the pressure the deeper you go down is likely to let water in.!!! do they guarantee it to work with no failures, if you do buy one i would not go any deeper than 10 meters down as the pressure starts to build up quite alot by then !!!
- my brother is a diving instructor. he uses those disposable underwater cameras. the pictures come out great
- Those bags are rated to 20 meters. They used to be rated for 3. I'm not sure what's changed., if anything. I wouldn't trust my digital to one of those "one-size-fits-all" bags. 3 meters would be good for snorkling.
