Underwater Camera Housings

Taking pictures with sony DSC - T100 underwater?

I have a sony DSC - T100 digital camera and i found an underwater casing for it. I wanted to buy it but my dad stopped me because he said the camera will be performing poorly underwater. Is it true that you can't take good pictures with cameras like this ? Prove my dad wrong if you have taken photos with this camera underwater by linking me the picture. THANKS

  1. Sorry, I can't link to any T100 underwater photos. I will be doing underwater photography next month with a Canon A400 though. The most important thing for any photo is the photographer, not the camera. I have seen award-winning photos taken with $3 disposable cameras. You would have to work within the T100's limitations to get good photos. You would need clear water, and would have to shoot the photos near the surface so you would have enough light, since the flash is low power. You would have to be patient and hold still with the camera ready to take the photo till fish or other animals got close to you. It will be hard to get crystal-clear deep-water shots like the pros get underwater with $10,000 outfits, but you CAN get good underwater photos if you learn the camera's limitations and work within them.
