- Good question Ive tumbled the idea around in my head for a coupla years now, still cant figure out how to access the various buttons tho.....keep working on it.
- Hmm . I saw it once on a movie . You can try that by a very transparent condoms. I think it will work

- i cant tell you how to make one but i can give you a few hints. First of all unless you are really strapped for cash and have good metal fabrication skills you probably shouldnt try to make an uw housing on your own, just not worth the risk. that said dont look at the modern housing as examples to follow as they have very complicated designs that are moulded to fit the camera, find some of the really old models and have a look at their construction. they are have very simple designs that can be replicated, but i cannot describe the details but if you are able to take a look you will have a good idea what you are about to do. use an aluminium cylinder for the main body, mount the camera onto a base plate and use the base plate to mount the camera to the housing, and use clear glass(very difficult) or plastic of around half an inch thick to make the ends, and when making the buttons make them so you have to turn knobs to manipulate the camera, dont try to use push buttons as they are very complicated to make and leak easily, dont be afraid to make the housing big. however you choose to tackle it you are looking at a major project, we did this only once a long time ago and only because we NEEDED a customized housing. i have a very old ikelite housing, i'll try to take some pics and post it at my online album at diamond.fotopic.net dont hold your breath it could be a while. in the meantime why dont you give some serious thougth to buying a housing, they are definitely worth the money, and there are some bag type cousings that come for less than $100, they are for use in shallow waters less than 10m, Elektra makes some of these, and have a look at the Ikelite housings they are well worth the money and cheaper than most others.
- I've done this before with an older camera that I wasn't too worried about ruining if it got wet. I used a ziplock bag...the one with the double seal. The pictures may come out a little blurry if you don't have the bag taut against the lens before you take the pictures underwater. Good luck making one!
