are underwater camera cases good? i want a regular nice camera becuz i am not in the water 24/7 but when i do go underwater i want to be able to take underwater pics by using a underwater case over my camera.....what types of cases are good? or do cases even work? hope u can help!!!

Anyone ever used an underwater camera case? My husband wants one of these underwater camera cases for our digital camera. We have a water resistant case for our I-pod which has to go on the cruise. I'm fine with that b/c I don't go that close to the pool to begin with. Using a digital video camera underwater? I have a sony camera now, it is expensive and good quality, but I want to take videos underwater or near water so i don't need to worry when it gets wet. If so, what type do you use, the one specifically designed for your camera or one designed for a specific line of cameras including yours? So...I was wondering if my "recipe" would work okay for underwater photography? Take a ziplock double zip thing bag (those freezer bag sizes) and insert camera. Seal bag after pushing all air out. Put second larger bag over the ziplock double zip bag and also seal air tight. Do you think it'll work okay? I really don't care if the image quality is affected by the bag. Underwater Camera House? I was wondering if I should buy the Fantasea CP-3 which is a hard plastic case to protect the camera (its about $150) or the WP-500 which is a special plastic bag that holds a camera (its only $30). The Fantasea is a lot more expensive, and only fits one model, but its a lot more reliable. The WP-500 is a lot cheaper, fits lots of different models of cameras, but isn't as reliable. Do I need to buy the optional weight kit along with the housing to take my digital camera scuba diving? Will I have bouyancy issues with my camera if I just skip the weights and get an underwater casing alone? I have a Canon PowerShot A630 camera I'd like to take diving.

Do i need flash for underwater photography? I have an olympus C760 digital camera and was thinking of geting an underwater case for snorkelling and have realised that the inbuilt popup flash cannot be used with the housing. Is a flash necessary for this type of underwater photography. The flash accessory costs a LOT! Thanks

Taking pictures with sony DSC - T100 underwater? I have a sony DSC - T100 digital camera and i found an underwater casing for it. I wanted to buy it but my dad stopped me because he said the camera will be performing poorly underwater. Is it true that you can't take good pictures with cameras like this ? Under water camera for snorkeling and spearfishing? What kind of camera should I be looking into. I'm not gonna be diving more than 60 feet. I want something that takes pictures, video is an option. Something affordable. UNder $400. If you have any experience with underwater cameras, please let me know. I currently have a Canon SD 400 and I can get a case for it but I don't know if that messes with the quality of the images. Any information will be helpful.

Can you zoom and change camera settings underwater? I'm planning on getting the Canon Digital IXUS 870 IS and its casing for underwater photography. Problem is, can I change the camera settings (i.e. switch to macro mode, turn off flash) and zoom in on my shots when the camera is in its waterproof case? If I can't, I'm considering Sony's Cybershot T700, with touchscreen. Will they be easier to operate underwater?

Earning money from selling prints or a contest? I am in need of some major cash. I have been saving up for a new, better camera and underwater case for a while but i am in desperate need of them now because I am taking a snorkling trip in hawii. I am also saving up for Paintshop Pro X2 which is extremely expensive. Even though I am only 14, I was wondering if there was any contest for photography that could get me money or if there was a way to sell my current prints to buy my new camera and software. For anyone who has one have you taken in it in the snow? could it break the case? Or the Camera? It snowy outside but it should be about 40 - 50 Degrees Fahrenheit outside.
